Do You Really Need a Guide For WoW Dailies?

I consider myself to be a relative expert of almost all things to do with World of Warcraft.  That's why, when I saw this new dailies and events guide, I was pretty surprised.  I mean, I can understand a few people maybe wanting a WoW Dailies guide to help them, but the guide seemed very popular.

That got me thinking a bit.  At first I thought, I've been playing WoW since it was in beta, so I know almost everything there is to know about dailies and events - but what about newer players, or players who just aren't as hardcore as me?  After a while, I was just too curious to stand it anymore.

So, after deciding to just give Zygor's Dailies & Events Guide a shot (I wasn't expecting much at all), I was in for a rather big surprise.  I was completing dailies faster than I ever had before - and I'm an expert!  Once I picked up my trampled ego off the floor, I was pretty impressed.  I mean, I was doing things in only a few minutes what used to take me an hour, or more, to complete.

Now, I'm the proud owner of full heirloom item sets for all classes and I got my Crusader title faster than I thought was possible.  All in all, I use Zygor's guide every day, and if you are looking to do dailies and get heirloom items and your Crusader title really fast, this guide is not a bad investment.

Gear Score of 5200 for ICC raids...My Road

This is my road to reaching the 5200 GS that my guild wants for their IceCrown Citadel 25 man raids. I started out at ilvl 200-213 and appx a GS of 4200 when I started on Tuesday the 16th. I am now at ~4700 and still need 500 more points...

I am mostly a casual raider - ie. I pick up WoW for a couple months here and there and try to see some of the new raids and content. For example, I ran a Trial of the Champion 25 man raid last night. It was a PUG group. I won a ilvl245 ring. It took a few wipes and a few hours, but we one shot Anub'arak.

That is one step closer to the 5200 gs goal. In order to get there, you need to mostly have iLvL 245 items - concentrating on items below iLvL232. As you can see below, I still have some work. I need to get the following items upgraded: head, neck, belt, trinket, and feet.

Male or Female Worgen in Cataclysm

So I am deciding what to gender to play my Worgen Druid.  The first thing that I think of is what are the models going to look like and what do we know now.  Here are some images of Worgens.

This is concept art from Blizzcon last year showing the female Worgen.

This is a screenshot of what appears to be a Worgen Druid male and the kitty form.  I don't know if that is the feral cat of a worgen, but it could be assumed as such.

For me it really isn't even a contest.  I'd pick the male Worgen over the female almost always.  There are no actual models of the female Worgen right now that Blizzard has published.  There are some terrible renditions floating around the web that look really bad and noone would choose to play that.  However, I think Blizzard might surprise us with a good looking female Worgen.  My only hope is that she'll be able to fit through doorways and such, unlike female Tauren.

Tom Chilton's Anniversary Interview for WoW

In this interview, World of Warcraft Game Director Tom Chilton talks about the hectic final months leading up to the game's launch, crafting an MMORPG for a wide range of play styles, and the ongoing effort to improve the game through expansions and content updates.

Blizzard Insider: Before you came to Blizzard Entertainment to join the World of Warcraft team, you were the lead designer on Ultima Online -- you worked on several expansions and game updates, right?

Tom Chilton: Right.
When you started at Blizzard Entertainment, you started as a senior game designer while World of Warcraft was in development?

That's right -- when I started, there were a handful of associate designers and one or two mid-level designers
Thunder Bluff
Can you talk about the state the game was in when you came on?

Yeah -- it was early 2004, around February. The core look and feel and the quest-oriented gameplay were already there, but I think the level cap was 15. Most of the zones in the game had been created by then, but there was no content in the majority of them above level 15 -- they were basically empty.

Blizzard announces Cataclysm Gear/Stat Changes

As many of you know from panels at last year’s BlizzCon and posts here on the forums since then, Cataclysm will bring about major changes to familiar character stats such as Intellect, Armor Penetration, Defense, and others, ultimately designed to make the effects of stats more easily understandable and make gear choices more interesting. As these changes will have a significant impact on how stats work and relate to one another, today we wanted to offer you a closer look at exactly what’s in store and explain some of the rationale before Cataclysm arrives.
